Individual-based microsimulation models are increasingly used in urban and transport planning and in public health research, but the individual-level data they require are often restricted by privacy regulations and cost. Synthetic populations address this by generating statistically realistic representations of the population. This presentation introduces a synthetic population of Estonia that links individuals to dwellings and is derived exclusively from open data.
